What's it all about?

Founded at the very beginning of the 20th Century, famous playwright George Bernard Shaw being a notable founding member, LSE closely studies social and economic trends.

LSE’s motto “rerum cognoscere causas” means “to know the causes of things”. It was chosen to support the School’s founding purpose, “for the betterment of society”. As it stands, LSE is the only university in the United Kingdom dedicated solely to the study and research of social sciences

How do I get there?

LSE is just a 24-minute walk from Crescent Hotel. As you exit the hotel, turn right onto Marchmont Street and then another right on Bernard St. Take the next left onto Russell Square and continue walk south for approximately half a mile. As you approach the Strand underpass, take a left onto Portugal Street. LSE will be on your right, just down Clare Market.
