“Location, location, location…’ That is, of course, the mantra of the real estate business. And it is so much the secret of the Crescent Hotel’s success. It is literally near everything—the British Museum, three very convenient tube stations (with Russel Square being the closest, just down three street), Russell Square itself—all located in a very peaceful, leafy neighbourhood. Yes, you can get the major sites quickly. But when you return to the hotel, there is sense of being home. From the Russell Square tube station, you’ve just walked through a neighbourhood filled with pubs, grocery stores, dry cleaners, a dental practise. Just sitting in nearby Russell Square is a great way to revive. The hotel is on its own crescent-shaped patch of green—Cartwright Gardens and very quiet. The full English breakfast can carry you well past mid-day and it is delicious. It is complemented by juices and cereals that are available. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, notable for their sense of peace and quiet. (undated, Recent)

Many people like to leave home and travel abroad. How nice to have a sense of place and of home waiting on you when you get there. That sense was heightened for me when I had a traditional Sunday roast for lunch in a pub just around the corner from the hotel after I attended a church service at Westminster Abbey. Locals were in there doing the same. Crescent Hotel will be my home when I return to London again. And I will…” (Single en-suite –August 2018)

“The shampoo is useless. Better not having any shampoo at all. It would be nice it was possible to put plastic, card boards, and glass in different dustbins. Better for the environment. Nicely decorated rooms. Really nice and friendly staff. It would be of interest if you wrote a bit about this house history during the years, in the portfolio.” (Single en-suite – June 2018)

“Great place, your breakfast is amazing and delicious. Nice that you lent electrical adaptors (for absent minded people) tea and coffee selection in the room very cosy for winter nights. And the mattress are so comfortable. On the down side, a smoking area within the hotel would be nice and hydrating lotion in the room would be rather nice.” (Single en-suite – March 2018)

“A wonderful find in an optimal location in central London.  ”Sparky” and warm welcome from the receptionist, who upgraded my room (and it was my first time here, not a repeat guest!) Comfortable home from home room with all necessary features for a good night’s sleep. Full English breakfast included as standard a complete rarity in London. Finding a good, reasonable priced hotel in this location is always a challenge. I’ve found mine!” (Single en-suite – February 2018)

“Very clean hotel and welcoming staff. Good location. Just a couple of points- as was on top floor would have been useful at check in to be told that had to get hair dryer from reception. As I was late arriving the reception was closed when I realised and when I want in morning at 7 am was not yet open. Also some tissues in room and an extra cup. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you” (Single room with shower – February 2018)

“I Love it that you also offer healthy choices for breakfast, for example fruits and sugar free cereals. Very friendly staff! The old- fashioned “feel” of the hotel, old prints and furniture obviously well- cased for. Very clean. I have been coming here for several years now and always enjoy the place. Also, the location is nice, with a view of trees, and close to shops and public transport.” (Single with shared facilities – February 2018)

“As in all previous occasions my short stay at the Crescent Hotel was a happy one. Good friendly service from all the staff, and a comfortable room. A very nice location for the hotel in Bloomsbury. Breakfast as usual – excellent!” (Single with shared facilities – January 2018)
