These are just some of the kind words written for us by guests on the comments and recommendations sheet left in all the bedrooms.
“Very professional and friendly as always. Thank you.” (Single room with shared facilities – January 2018)
“Lovely room. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Staff really helpful. Excellent location. Highly recommended.” (Double en-suite room – December 2017)

“Thank you for making my stay quiet, restful and exceedingly pleasant. What a lovely family run hotel in an ideal location – a great find. I will definitely return.” (Single with shower – December 2017)
“The Crescent Hotel was snug and cozy, all the staff were helpful and friendly but not overbearing.” (Single with shared facilities – November 2017)
“Always a comfortable stay. Lovely classical music in the breakfast room.” (Single with shared facilities – November 2017)
“Breakfast is top! The quiet … It was the second time in the Crescent Hotel. Best regards.” (Single en-suite – November 2017)
“Always a sincere welcome upon arrival. The recent refurbishment of rooms is a tasteful mix of classic and contemporary, it works. Surprisingly quiet area.” (Single with shared facilities – November 2017) Due to the age of the building and the way it was originally converted to a hotel, all the rooms are different in shape and size. We have kept and maintained as many of the original features as we could. One rescue attempt of a beautiful fireplace with built-in retractable fire grate (have never seen one of these before), involved me having to climb behind the iron fireplace into the chimney! Svetlana took some brilliant photos of me covered in soot! Sadly, the grate was too brittle to leave on display.
“Clean and comfortable. Room too warm with heating on. Comfortable beds. Great shower.” (Family room – November 2017)
“Though within short walking distance from St. Pancras and Russell Square area, Cartwright Gardens is an oasis of peace and quiet – so is the Crescent Hotel. I had a very nice large room overlooking the gardens. Good English breakfast. In short I had a most pleasant stay” (Single en-suite – October 2017) We are very lucky with the location. The local area is almost like a small village in a big city. We have very little through traffic, we still have what would have been the original high-street with many independent coffee shops, restaurants and local stores. 4 large public gardens within 5 minutes’ walk (including the one right in front of the hotel). But with 3 Underground stations and many buses also within 5 minutes’ walk, you can be in the ‘big city’ in no time.
“Convenient, comfortable and wonderfully friendly staff. Highly recommended.” (Triple en-suite room – October 2017)
“This was my first stay here. I’ll definitely come back and explore the area. The hotel is very nice and great value. My room was warm and quiet and the bed was comfy.” (Single with shared facilities – October 2017)
“The Crescent Hotel operates to a high standard and is excellent value.” (Single with shared facilities – October 2017)
“We loved our stay! The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and the fan (table top) was wonderful. We would definitely come back again.” (Double en-suite room – September 2017) We have table top fans in the rooms throughout the summer months. We are not allowed to install air-conditional as the building is Grade II Listed. The fans are available all year round, and can be asked for at reception. The windows have stoppers so that they can’t be opened fully, but if you would like them unlocked for more fresh air, we can.
“For sure our favorite hotel in London. I’ve stayed here for more than 15 years. The rooms have been renovated with taste, keeping the atmosphere of the hotel. Very conveniently located near St. Pancras in a quiet and lovely area.” (Double en-suite room – September 2017)
“I much enjoy the atmosphere of this family hotel and particularly so the mix of new and old furniture, etchings etc. Excellent service.” (Single en-suite – August 2017) I enjoy repairing and smartening up old pieces of furniture. I get very quizzical looks on the Underground as I carry shelves or chairs or tables back and forth to the Hotel from home!
“Our first visit to this lovely little hotel. A comfortable, spotlessly clean room and en-suite overlooking the gardens. Very quiet and a good nights sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. Fruits, cereals and full English cooked to order. Very friendly staff – felt very welcome. A charming gem of a hotel. We will be back!” (Family en-suite room – August 2017)
“Fantastic value – well priced and conveniently located. Superb breakfast, friendly and efficient staff.” (Triple en-suite room – August 2017)
“I have stayed at several hotels/bed and breakfasts while in England. Crescent Hotel felt the most like being in someone’s home. Svetlana was quite welcoming and helpful in so many ways. I will be back!” (Single en-suite – August 2017) She is very good. We like her too!
“Really enjoyed our stay – clean, comfortable, cute. The size of the room a pleasant surprise for London! I will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends from Australia that visit. Also the newly renovated bathroom is nice.” (Twin en-suite – July 2017)
“Everything was great. Our daughter thought the breakfast room was pretty.” (Triple en-suite – July 2017)

“Lovely hotel, very warm and friendly. It is the 1st time I have travelled alone and I felt very comfortable. Breakfast great, great location. Lisa is very lovely and helpful. Thank you.” (Single with shared facilities – May 2017) Thank you, I try!
“The receptionist was lovely and so helpful. It made our visit even more enjoyable.” (Double en-suite – May 2017)
“I feel sure you are one of the nicest hotels in London, but as I try not to stay anywhere else, how can I compare? Charming staff, perfectly charming setting, and even the instructions for tuning into Radio 4!” “Lisa – the lovely Crescent isn’t quite the same without your vibrant presence. Australia indeed! See you next time.” (Single en-suite – April 2017) Sorry, I was in a tent at the bottom of a mountain in Arapiles
“I come back to this hotel time and time again. Why? Great customer service – a happy smile always greats me. Thank you.” (Single en-suite – March 2017)
“We loved staying here and will be back!!! Thanks” (Double en-suite – March 2017)
“Very surprised that you were able to make us a full vegan breakfast! What a delight! Staff were also friendly and approachable. Thank you !” (Twin en-suite – March 2017) You are more than welcome. We buy specialist items as and when they are requested by guests. This means we can usually meet all requirements
“Clean and comfortable rooms, central but quiet location, friendly and helpful staff. Keen price. Pleased that Crescent Hotel is environmentally aware – low energy light bulbs and recycling of rubbish.” (Single with shower – February 2017) As and when our already energy saving light bulbs go, we are replacing them with even more energy efficient LED bulbs. We do recycle as much as we can. Office and kitchen items are recycled as well as mixed recycling from the bedrooms. Our housekeepers take a general rubbish and a mixed recycling bag with them when they clean the rooms daily. They will collect, paper, card, cans and tins, cartons, glass and plastic separately for recycling. I am currently looking into having our cooking oil collected for fuel and food waste for composting. After 3 months storage, we also take what we can from lost property to the charity shop.
“Clean facilities, great location for Euston and St. Pancras station. Good selection at breakfast.” (Single with shared facilities – November 2016)
“A lovely welcome and lovely clean little room with excellent facilities. Nothing I would change really ! Thanks.” (Single with shared facilities – November 2016)
“We found our family room-clean, very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was very very good – service was top form. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in London.” (Family room en-suite – November 2016)
“Was very impressed with the room and beds were very comfortable. I loved the antique furniture. Breakfast good. My only criticism would be hallway and communal area looking a little tired. I would certainly return. Thanks for pleasant stay.” (Twin en-suite – October 2016)
