From Our Time Honoured Guests

Our long standing friends …

“If you are wanting to stay in the centre of London but at the same time long for tranquillity and peace, the Crescent Hotel, and the tree-lined streets of Bloomsbury, offer you just that. Few things in life are certain. But the high standards of the Crescent Hotel are among them. The public areas and bedrooms are always spotless and the attention you will receive is exemplary. I have travelled all over the world but I still consider the Crescent Hotel as my second home. Some things may change but not the reliability, thoroughness and warmth of the Crescent. Whether you are coming to London for work or pleasure – and I have stayed at the Crescent for both over the last seven years – I can recommend the hotel as an exceptional place to stay..” Ian Stuart Ph.D (2012)

“The Crescent Hotel is a very comfortable and clean family establishment at the heart of Bloomsbury. The staff are very friendly, making this a welcoming hotel and a safe and enjoyable place to stay. Highly recommend as an affordable, comfortable place to stay in London.” Ms Smith, May 2012

“Really efficient helpful well run hotel. Mrs Cockle runs a tight ship with high standards and ‘no problem’ approach to service. Felt safe and quiet within an astonishing ten minute walk from busy Kings cross station. Thoroughly recommend for city weary travellers looking for a welcoming relaxed oasis. Excellent breakfast too.” Susan, March 2012

“I chose the Crescent Hotel largely for its proximity to St Pancras and Euston stations, and also for a good number of positive reviews. I must say that it far exceeded my expectations. From the moment my husband and I set foot through the door, we felt that we were in a calm and pleasant, homely environment. We had a spacious room with a fabulous ensuite which was really good to come back to after a day spent sight-seeing. It was so close to St Pancras that we went over to Paris for the day, and close enough to the centre of London to be able to walk around all the major tourist sights. It was also wonderfully quiet – even though the Hotel was full you would never know it, and there was no outside noise whatsoever. We slept really well on the comfortable beds and enjoyed the breakfast. Being able to leave our luggage on our final day was also really appreciated. I would recommend this Hotel and would definitely book it again.” Claire, April 2012

“I have known the Crescent Hotel for more than 30 years. I used to spend some time in the British Library for my work and every trip I made I stayed in this Hotel which I found very welcoming and friendly. I still stay there for my visits to London and every time I find there again the same atmosphere. And each time there is a new improvement in the rooms!” Jaques Roubaud (Directeur d’Etudes a l’EHESS (Paris) (Retired). September 2011

“Ever since 1987 I have stayed in the Crescent Hotel every summer except 1992 when I was sick. It has been my home in London and England because of its cosy and warm atmosphere and convenient location. Now I have several Japanese Crescent friends who love the hotel as much as I.” Miss Fu, Tokyo, Japan

“One of the luckiest discoveries of my professional career was The Crescent Hotel ! For nearly two decades my London study tours of college women have made the Crescent their headquarters. The pleasant and safe neighborhood, the three nearby Underground stations, and the proximity to museums, theatres, historic sites, all have made The Crescent irreplaceable in our group’s planning. Do you want more testimony? The staff is unfailingly courteous and helpful. The facilities are comfortable, not the ‘cookie-cutter’ rooms of the larger (and more expensive) hotels in the area. Among the visitors, we have met over the years are fascinating travellers from the U.S. and from all across Europe. And the very FULL English breakfast will sustain a young adult through even my notoriously athletic walking tours. In short, I have become an unabashed fan; The Crescent is my London home.” Prof. Don Adam, Pittsburgh, PA.

“As a customer of two and a half years standing, I am more than happy to recommend (and have done to many friends and colleagues) the Crescent Hotel to anybody who requires a comfortable, convenient base while staying in London. The friendly atmosphere is one that can only occur in a family run hotel, and is part of what sets this hotel apart
from the rest. Its good value for money as well, what more could you ask for!” Mr Rod Stead, Devon, England

“The Crescent Hotel is the only place we stay in London. The rooms are airy and comfortable, the staff is always charming and helpful, and the intimate atmosphere of the small hotel makes us feel welcome and relaxed. We have stayed there with our kids, and with our elderly relatives, and everyone has enjoyed the hotel. Its location in a charming diverse neighborhood – with a pleasant park adjacent – is just one more advantage of the Crescent. Easy walking access to four different underground stations makes the Crescent the perfect starting point for all our London excursions.” Mr Lester Krupp, Olympia, Washington

“I’ve been coming to the Crescent Hotel for nearly 30 years because it offers the comfort of home and a smile. It’s safe and central.” Mrs Sharon Gissler, Santa Clara, CA
